Your oil change is going to be different than the 4.7L. You will have a bolt that is easily striped (be careful) and then filters that come out of the drain areas vs what you see in this video for the 4.7L. Im not too sure about your trans/diff (it should theoretically be the same), and everything else should be the same.

They got the infamous condensation and stopped working. I didnt mind the red, but the clear lights with the black surround were on the updated vantages/newer vantages so i started to update the car with the later models.

Haha - I've heard of folks being able to remove the backbox without bumper removal, but for mine, it was impossible due to clearance. Not sure if the earlier models had more clearance or less integrated in the rear (IE: oil cooler)

Indeed it does! Also learning about the car gives me the ability to diagnose more easily in the future.

I havent officially dyno'd the car however based on the VAP site claims, this should be right under 500. If I had to guess somewhere around 470? But I can tell the difference in responsiveness and power throughout the range.

Yeah I have the OEM 7 spoke wheels on mine and I love the look of the split 5 spoke wheels you had on your Vantage.

@@jimrodriguez7640 Honestly, I love all of the OEM wheels that Aston put out on the Gaydon Era Vantages, I just wish they were wider to align with the Fender. My OEM 5 spoke is forged and lighter but I didnt want to run spacers on them.

@@user-wx9co3jv1s Yea hes a good dude. Only issue I have with the jack pads are the O-Rings keep popping off or snapping. But, the pads do help lift the car properly without damage. Scariest part of working on the aston is lifting it. ;)

@@Hwang_Over try some carbon upgrade the are so cool eg clear light cluster with carbon inlay Carbon splitter and door scuff plates

At the time of this video, I was trying an HR Spring setup and had an aggressive camber (cant remember but ~-3-4) to avoid rubbing and in some cases I did rub (very slightly). Since then, I have switched to BC Coilovers with Swift springs and raised the car a little to avoid any rubbing and bottoming out.

Thanks! I unfortunately have not had the time to track this car, hence the local rallies. Summit point would be the nearest. We have a local DMV owners group that a friend and I manage and we partner with the local Aston Martin Dealership for events and rallies.

Honestly, I really like working on this car. The engineering amazes me. I always like hanging out in the garage wrenching, drinking beer with friends, and then seeing the fruits of our labor. Just purchased an f80 so thatll be fun to work on. I have not done the clutch as the mileage on this car is extremely low and the clutch is good. One thing I do regret is not replacing the starter as that is directly in line with the new headers heat soaking.

There are a lot of conflicting views on the priming process, I have talked with the Aston Techs locally here and they dont see a need to do that after an oil change. Unless you use a mechanism to fully flush out the oil, the residual is enough to have all of the parts lubricated. Also upon start up, the oil gets to the necessary parts within seconds. But to each their own on their own vehicles. Thanks for sharing.

Its all good. IMO, the tune was a night and day difference with the car. Throttle response was definitely a noticeable difference but also the power. When I installed the headers and 200 cell cats with the tune, the car just came alive and the note was amazing. The xpipe was more for tone as I wanted a more higher pitch refined note rather than a v8 raspy note. Then I managed to get a Vantage S back box and that was a game changer in terms of note as well. Xpipe and back box was not for power.

​@@Hwang_Over, awesome! I have a lightweight flywheel and Fabspeed X-pipe. No extra power but the car sounds nice and is very easy to drive. A Tune, 200-cell cats, and headers are on the wishlist.

@@iiijwsssawesome. The lightweight flywheel will be the most noticeable with throttle response so you may not feel as much of a difference compared to me. Be careful with the fabspeed xpipe with VAP 200 cats as I know they design them slightly different. If you get the manifolds from VAP, I believe that you have to get the 200 cell cats, bc the headers dont mate with the stock cats. If you have the 200 cell cats from VAP, I dont know if they mate with Fabspeed Xpipe bc I believe that their xpipe assumes a cat delete and mates with oem headers. I could be wrong but double check and do your homework.

Thanks! Love the community as there are a lot of people who work on their cars and post useful information. The car has been rock solid for me. I would highly recommend a 4.7 and a manual as I have seen more issues with the SS1&SS2 posted on the forums. The maintenance costs are low as long as you can do them yourself, otherwise you are at the mercy of the indie shop or the dealership. For example: the yearly oil change is roughly 2800 and an indie shop is roughly around 1200 and yourself is 130. The 2 year is considerably a lot more and cost me 640 in parts and fluids.

Yea, the ASMs are a little more technical and from everything I've read, you need the Aston AMDS system to reset and purge. Part of the reason why I stayed away from SS, but also I need three pedals in my life!

@@Hwang_Over my SAS is bad my brake pressure sensor my pedal travel sensor on brake pedal is bad. Ss works with tool. But paddles just click. Nonshift. I wonder if brake issues can cause no shift . Also. Can driver door be open when shifting. I read door needs to be shut.

Thanks Rob! The BCs are very nice and still in their break-in period. Love them over the stock so far and better than the HR Springs I had. Now I dont bottom out as much!
